How do we learn how to learn? By teaching it. Unique to Wolcott, Learning Strategies™ is a required class that meets four times per week, through all four years of high school. In this way, we can meet our students at each level of their educational development. Guided by a Learning Specialist, students meet in small groups and have one-to-one support to develop the organizational, testing and study skills critical to success in high school and beyond.
Learning to Lead
An auxiliary to Learning Strategies™, Leadership Team is a class that meets three times per week as a forum to discover and refine problem-solving, communication and study skills. Because social emotional learning is uniquely built into the inner curriculum, students also engage in group discussions on topics such as grit and resilience to help them understand and internalize the components of effective leadership.
