Sam grew up in suburban Chicago. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. He also spent a semester studying abroad at Hebrew University in Jerusalem as part of the Nachshon Project fellowship.
Sam developed his love of advocacy and working with young adults from his many summers working in charge of the vocational special-needs program at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin. Sam is an avid runner and finisher of three marathons. In his free time, Sam loves to watch movies, play chess, and quote lines from the TV show Spongebob Squarepants.
