Ravi Shah is the Educational Technologies Director, Head of the Mathematics Department, Summer Enrichment Principal, and Career Week Coordinator at Wolcott College Prep. With an interest in education since his early years, Dr. Shah received his Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and his Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from the University of Southern California. He also completed a certificate in Gifted Education from USC, giving him the tools necessary to work with students who excel in the classroom when presented with various learning methods. Dr. Shah also completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Curriculum Studies) from DePaul University. His dissertation is titled, Mathematical Identity Formation: Preparing Students with Learning Disorders for Post-Secondary Education and Careers.
Dr. Shah hopes to continue research related to effective and innovative teaching methods in the classroom to help create more equitable opportunities for his students with learning differences. This interest is impacted by curricular and instructional decisions as well as educational technologies important to the classroom.
In his free time, Dr. Shah likes to travel the world, spend time with friends and family, and explore his hometown city of Chicago with his wife.
