Sara has worked as a high school English teacher for the past 16 years, beginning her career at The Dwight School in New York City. Sara later taught at EF Academy New York, an international boarding school, where she was grateful and inspired to teach students from more than 49 different nations. Upon relocating to Chicago, she worked at Fusion Academy Oak Brook as an English, yoga, and Italian instructor. Sara also currently works for HelloCollege, where she guides students through the college application process, particularly the common application essay. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds an M.A. in English from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has been published in The Washingtonian, The Journal for Adult and Adolescent Literacy and Chronogram. Sara loves all things Italian, especially practicing the language. Her favorite place in Chicago is The Garfield Park Conservatory. Currently, she lives in Oak Park with her husband, son, and feisty but healing rescue dog: Frankie Dude. She’s excited to be a part of the Wolcott community.
